• De Soto, Kan.-based Huhtamaki Americas is celebrating the 65th anniversary of its Bulkan® container. For more then seven decades, the company has led the industry in providing frozen dessert packaging. In 1942, a bulk container, now known as the Bulkan, was introduced for restaurants and ice cream dip stores to hold and dispense frozen desserts. Now, 65 years later, the container built for strength, rigidity, cleanliness and reliability, continues to be the package of choice for most ice cream producers.
• Marshfield Wis.-based Nelson-Jameson Inc. is celebrating its 60th anniversary as a business built on top-quality service, flavored by Midwestern values and ethics. Besides a traditional offering of MRO (maintenance, repair and operating), safety and laboratory supplies, the company prides itself on stocking hard-to-find and specialty items. Product lines also include food packaging and ingredients, such as food coloring, enzymes, spices and peppers. This extensive line of products allows them to offer the widest possible range of supply items from a single source.
Multivac Inc. will celebrate its 20th year as a local company in North America with a gala Oktoberfest event held September 27 to 28 at its headquarters in Kansas City, Mo. In addition, customers are invited to participate in the Multivac Anniversary Golf tournament at nearby Staley Farms Golf Club. Those wishing to attend are asked to register at www.multivac.com/RSVP, where further event details are also available.
Polymer Packaging Inc. (PPI) has recently moved its corporate headquarters to Massillon, Ohio. The company says the new facility puts extrusion and converting under one roof with room to grow. PPI invested more than $25 million into the expansion. The addition of an extrusion operation to its already successful converting and packaging supply business gives the nationally recognized company the ability to address just about any packaging challenge, PPI says.
