• De Soto, Kan.-based Huhtamaki Americas is celebrating the 65th anniversary of its Bulkan® container. For more then seven decades, the company has led the industry in providing frozen dessert packaging. In 1942, a bulk container, now known as the Bulkan, was introduced for restaurants and ice cream dip stores to hold and dispense frozen desserts. Now, 65 years later, the container built for strength, rigidity, cleanliness and reliability, continues to be the package of choice for most ice cream producers.

Polymer Packaging Inc. (PPI) has recently moved its corporate headquarters to Massillon, Ohio. The company says the new facility puts extrusion and converting under one roof with room to grow. PPI invested more than $25 million into the expansion. The addition of an extrusion operation to its already successful converting and packaging supply business gives the nationally recognized company the ability to address just about any packaging challenge, PPI says.
