    Supplier’s News

    • Mettler-Toledo Safeline Inc., Tampa, Fla., has announced a metal detector trade-in program to encourage users to upgrade their metal detectors to the latest Safeline technology. The company says it will accept a user’s old metal detector in return for a “very fair credit” toward the purchase of a new Safeline metal detector. If the old metal detector has an integral conveyor system, it may also be traded in for a credit toward a Safeline integral conveyor. For more information, visit www.mt.com/safelineMDTradein.
    • Silliker Inc., Homewood, Ill., has entered into a strategic partnership with Austin-based Alchemy Systems, a privately held professional development solutions company, to develop and distribute food safety training programs utilizing the Standard Industry Skills Training and Educational Media (SISTEM™) product. Developed by Alchemy, SISTEM™ is highly interactive and is specifically geared to food manufacturing production workers, with all courses available in both Spanish and English.
    • Foxboro, Mass.-based Transpara Corp. and Pleasanton, Calif.-based Invensys Process Systems have announced a global partnership through which Invensys will become a global reseller and certified implementer for Transpara’s Visual KPI operations intelligence software. • Atlanta-based Orkin Inc. has been recognized by Training magazine as part of its prestigious Top 125 list. Ranking 113th, this is the fifth straight year the company has been included on the list. Training magazine, the training industry’s premiere publication, annually selects 100 organizations that excel at human capital development. Companies are chosen based on criteria such as best training practices, evaluation methods and outstanding training initiatives.
    • Multivac has announced the opening of its newest subsidiary company, Multivac Canada, based north of Toronto. All of Multivac’s Canadian sales and service activity — previously coordinated through Multivac USA — are now conducted exclusively by Multivac Canada. “Canada is a key market for Multivac,” says Nestor Plawiuk, president of Multivac Canada. “As the country’s economy continues to grow,  we are seeing strong demand for the unique packaging solutions Multivac brings to its food, medical and consumer product industries. We’re confident our new organization will deliver the utmost in service and value to our current and future customers throughout Canada.”
