MicroThermics Inc., Raleigh, N.C., celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. John Miles founded the company in 1989 when he built his first thermal processing system in his home to address the need in the R&D community for laboratory size thermal processing systems that could mirror the manufacturing process. Today, the company’s systems can be found in 24 countries in the food, pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Twenty years of product development has enabled MicroThermics to provide systems that address a variety of research and development applications, as well as the production of small-volume, high-value products.
