Foremost Farms receives Well Workplace Award
The Wellness Council of America (WELCOA) has presented its “Well Workplace Gold Award” to Foremost Farms USA for its efforts in promoting employee health and well-being. A “well workplace” is an organization that fully embraces its responsibility for maximizing the health and well-being of its employees. There are four designations of the award ― bronze, silver, gold and platinum. The gold award recognizes organizations developing comprehensive programs and producing results.
“I would like to thank all employees who helped support and participate in various health promotion activities,” said Michael McDonald, vice president-human resources, safety and communications. “Our employees are truly working for a better future and long-term health.”
McDonald also credited Lisa Reimer, benefits and wellness manager, for working toward this
certification.
With more than 2,500 member organizations located throughout North America, Baraboo, Wis.-based WELCOA is highly recognized and regarded for its innovative and results-oriented approach to worksite
wellness. Only a handful of companies each year meet the rigorous standards to achieve a
Well Workplace Award.
There are only 46 organizations in Wisconsin who have achieved the gold level and only five of those are in the manufacturing sector. Foremost Farms is one of seven companies in the country to earn a gold award in 2010.
