Fortress' Phantom Vertex System Integrates with Vertical Form/Fill/Seal Machines

Fortress Technology’s most compact metal detector, the Phantom Series Vertex model, fits in restricted spaces where other detectors can’t. The inline system is designed to integrate with Vertical Form Fill Seal machines for pouch-packing solutions – typically situated beneath a Multihead weigher in snack food and powder processing applications.
Vertex utilizes the latest digital signal processing technology to protect freefalling product at high speeds and to detect and reject the smallest metal contaminants including pieces of wire, shavings and swarf.
Despite its slim stature, Vertex achieves the same high sensitivity levels as other Phantom detector models within a drastically reduced housing. It also incorporates all the intelligence, functionality plus user-friendly operation of the cutting-edge Phantom digital technology via a mountable remote control box.
Vertex is well suited for applications prior to their metallized film packaging, as raw product inspection yields higher sensitivity levels than the limited performance attainable when scanning the finished product within its metallic packaging. Vertex also serves as an alternative metal detection solution in plants where space is unavailable to accommodate the installation of a standard conveyor-based detector.
Vertex units are aluminum constructed and are available in standard sizes with the option of custom-designed support frames for ease of installation.
