Russia’s largest dairy product and fruit juice manufacturer Wimm-Bill-Dann Foods (WBD) plans to buy several dairy plants in Russia in the near future, the company’s chairman said recently.

WBD plans to spend its own funds on the purchases. It has not yet reached an agreement to purchase the Ochakovo Dairy Plant. Purchase plans for that plant were reported earlier this year. WBD, founded in 1992, comprises 30 companies in Russia and other countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). France’s Danone Group holds 9.5% in WBD, and about 40% of WBD’s shares are traded on the New York Stock Exchange.
