When Chipotle, the Mexican inspired, better for-you quick service restaurant chain recently opened its first outlet in Boston, the Boston Globe took the occasion to produce an article on quick service restaurants with a focus on healthful food.

Included in the article were references to Boloco, a local (and proud of it) burrito restaurant, and O’Naturals which was opened in 2001 by a partnership involving Stonyfield Farm cofounder Gary Hirshberg. O’Naturals has other locations in Portland and Falmouth, Maine.

There are nearly 600 locations in the Chipotle chain, nationwide. While mainstream chains like McDonald’s have been talking about eliminating trans-fat and have made some improvements in their offering, the article noted that at least some consumers are opting for venues focused on health.
