Schreiber Foods Inc. is entering the yogurt market by purchasing Hilltop Valley Dairy, a single-facility operation in Richland Center, Wis.

“Hilltop Valley Dairy’s products fit with our current product line,” said Deborah Van Dyk, Schreiber’s v.p. of industry and regulatory affairs. “From our perspective, it helps us to deliver value to meet our customers’ dairy requirements.”

Started in 2001, Hilltop employs 125 people at a former Land O’Lakes plant. Hilltop Valley Dairy will continue to operate under its name, and co-founder Dan LaValley will be president of Schreiber’s new yogurt division.
