APV hygienic pumps and valves offer fast, easy maintenance. The centrifugal pump lines meet 3-A, FDA, USDA, BISSC and more. Major lines include the W+ Series high-performance, sanitary pump and the V2 for a range of pumping needs. APV’s range of pumps also includes positive displacement pumps such as the DW Series. The DW rotary lobe is ultra-hygienic and can be both a product and a CIP pump. And the company’s valves feature a hygienic 3-A single seat design, a control unit designed to leave no surface unclean.

Fristam’s new FKL 15 displacement pump offers a displacement of 0.016 gal/rev. while the new FKL 20 offers 0.032 gal/rev. These new models feature a split-style gearbox for easier maintenance. Both feature CIP ability with no performance loss. Additionally, the oil bath gearboxes on both models use no bearing grease and require oil change-out only every 4,000 hours. The FKL 15 and FKL 20 are manufactured of 316L stainless steel, with the exception of their non-galling stainless steel rotors. With these additions, Fristam now offers nine high-performance FKL models.

Graco has introduced a series of quick knock down Husky™ sanitary diaphragm pumps that offer flow rates up to 150 gpm. The Husky 3150 models are available with ball or flapper checks. The ball check models pass solids up to 1 inch while the flapper check models can pass solids up to 2.5 inches. An optional conversion kit allows easy change from one design to the other. Other features of the self-priming Husky 3150 pumps include lube-free operation, which is essential when handling food products; tri-clamp connections and a superior air valve with a 15-year warranty. The pumps are available as stand-mounted or in 55-gallon or 300-gallon unloader packages.

Designed to free up plant space, resolve alignment issues and increase process productivity, Waukesha Cherry-Burrell introduces the Tru-Fit™ close-coupled pump drive. With an average of 20-25% reduction in overall pump length, Tru-Fit’s self-aligning shaft eliminates the need for couplings and guards. Features include up to 50 gear ratios for each size, optional stainless-steel base and a three-bolt mounting to minimize pump change out time.

From its valve family, WCB offers PMO mix proof valves designed to meet criteria of the PMO for Grade A dairy processes. This valve is machined from solid bar construction and has a standard pressure rating of 150 psi (10 bar). The valve is available in1-1/2, 2, 2-1/2, 3, 4, and 6-inch tube OD sizes.

The PMO Mixproof Tank Outlet Valve from Tuchenhagen Flow Components is the only valve of its type in the United States. The mix-proof design allows for cleaning of lines even while there is product in the tank The valve is PMO compliant, features a full bore leak cavity port, is designed to mount flush with the tank bottom, offers a seatlift, and is available in a range of sizes from 2-inch to 6-inch diameter.

The new universal power frame cartridge available from SKF provides an “ultimate pump upgrade” designed to virtually eliminate premature bearing and mechanical seal failures caused by heat, vibration, misalignment, and cavitation. This modular “bolt-on” replacement for existing power frames can install and operate in pumps trouble-free, regardless of industry application. The cartridge meets ANSI and API pump specifications and can be bolted easily into place without modifying pump, piping, or foundation. The cartridge can be readily converted from standard power frame to hermetically sealed unit to contain process fluids in the power frame, minimizing costs of leak detection and repair. An optional C-frame adapter supports motors up to 200hp. These can be aligned quickly and precisely with the power frame shaft without requiring hot and cold shaft alignments. The robustness of this arrangement allows pumps to be stilt-mounted, eliminating a need for baseplates, simplifying clean-in-place activities, and improving sanitary conditions.

Südmo’s non-slamming Flow Diversion Valve is used on HTST pasteurization systems. This key, non-slamming feature allows for smooth operation without the damaging, and loud, hydraulic shock and water hammer experienced during the normal cut-in/cut-out flow cycles. In addition, the Flow Diversion Valve carries the 3A symbol and the memorandum M-b-347 for meeting the latest criteria from the FDA. Südmo’s Flow Diversion Valve design simplifies the stem detection procedure during regulatory inspections. Like all Südmo valves, the Flow Diversion Valve has a 10-year warranty on its actuator, utilizes simple “O”-rings for seat seals, has a one-piece machined body for strength, and is easy to maintain.

Alfa Laval’s series of Solid C centrifugal pumps for standard sanitary duties are intended for use in non-critical, less demanding applications. The robustness of this arrangement allows pumps to be stilt-mounted, eliminating a need for baseplates, simplifying clean-in-place activities, and improving sanitary conditions.

The pump range consists of four pumps with the following performance data:
  • inlet pressure: 50 psi
  • capacity: 400 gpm
  • head: 400 ft
  • temperature: up to 250˚F

All Solid C pump sizes have the high-quality shaft seal used in Alfa Laval’s 14 models of LKH premium pumps. Using the same shaft seal in both pumps simplifies the number of spare parts needed in stock. Conversion kits are available to change from a single to a single flushed seal.

The shaft seal can be removed by hand from the front of the pump without removing the backplate. This means that the shaft seal and O-rings can be changed in minutes. In addition, the compression coupling on the shaft is self-centering. The pump casing can be fitted by a single person, without assistance. Solid C pumps are supplied with a three-year warranty on all non-wear parts if genuine spare parts have been used.

Viking Pump has introduced the SteriLobe pump series, which features a clean design and ease of maintenance. The pump conforms to relevant EHEDG and 3A standards, and in the critical area of the mechanical seal, exceeds those design criteria to make the SteriLobe one of the cleanest standard-construction pumps available. The pump’s front-loading seal access makes seal removal easy, even for flushed and double-seal options, without removing the pump. The removable rotorcase and optional O-ring seal are ideal for COP (strip-clean) operations. The stainless-steel gear case, with no breather plug or sight glass, ensures cleanliness and corrosion resistance, and prevents water spray infiltration.
