Tillamook Wins Big in National Co-op Competition

    January 10, 2005
TILLAMOOK, Ore.-Tillamook County Creamery Association's award-winning cheese has more awards to add to its list of accomplishments for Tillamook® dairy products. At the National Milk Producers annual meeting held October 24-28 in Reno, Nev., Tillamook cheese products won five awards. Four additional awards were won in the Communications Competition for communication and advertising programs.

Out of 12 dairy cooperatives with 128 entries, Tillamook's dairy products placed highly among brands from across the United States. In the medium Cheddar cheese category, Tillamook medium Cheddar placed first and second. Tillamook placed first and third with its Monterey Jack cheese and another first place prize was won for Pepper Jack. Expert evaluators assess and score the cheese entries based on different quality attributes such as flavor, body and texture, and color and appearance.
