As part of an ongoing effort to educate consumers on the taste and health benefits of cottage cheese, HP Hood, New England’s leading dairy company, recently unveiled a new campaign promoting Hood cottage cheese.

The campaign uses a new Web site, www.HoodCottageCheese.com, and a series of TV advertisements to demonstrate how Hood cottage cheese can be used as a healthy alternative in recipes by providing less fat and calories than other high-fat cheeses.

Celebrity chef Rick Tarantino serves as the face of the campaign, titled “Winning Recipes from Hood Cottage Cheese.” Tarantino, who recently served as a judge for the Hood New England Dairy Cook-Off, is a regular on the Home Shopping Network.

“Cottage cheese serves as a great alternative to higher-fat cheeses in recipes. It reduces fat and provides protein without sacrificing taste,” Tarantino said. “I choose Hood cottage cheese for its creamy, wonderful texture and superior taste. It allows me to make easy and delicious recipes that the entire family will enjoy.”

The new Hood cottage cheese Web site, which features demonstrations of Tarantino’s recipes, is a great resource for cooks of all ages looking for ways to lower fat content-but keep the flavor-in their families’ diets. The site also lists in-store cooking demonstrations that Tarantino will lead over the course of the summer, and will feature a rewards program beginning in May.
