MoreThe Wisconsin Dairy Products Association (WDPA) has selected Schreiber Foods veteran, George Cornell to receive the 2004 WDPA Presidents Award. Cornell has been actively engaged in the dairy industry for almost 50 years.
Upon graduating from Michigan State University and serving four years in the U.S. Air Force, Cornell joined Schreiber Foods, Inc., Greenbay, Wis., in March 1958. He remained with Schreiber Foods until 1983, holding various positions including Senior VP Purchasing.
In 1984 he became VP Cheese Operations for Land O'Lakes. Then in 1988, he became VP and General Manager of Empire Cheese Co. In 1991, he was offered the position of Midwest Regional Manager for M.E. Franks, Inc. Finally in 1996, he began his current job as Midwest Sales/Procurement Manager for Pacific Cheese.
Cornell is a current member of the Wisconsin Dairy Products Assn's Board of Directors and has also served on the boards of the National Cheese Institute (Chairman) and National Cheese Exchange. He will be honored at a special awards dinner June 28 at the New Dairy Symposium. The Dairy Symposium will be held June 27-29 at The House on the Rock Resort in Spring Green, Wis.
