Limited-edition holiday-inspired yogurts are also new to Safeway-owned stores. Sold in 6-ounce cups, the two low-fat varieties are Cranberry Orange and Pumpkin Pie. There are also two light formulations: Caramel Apple and Gingerbread. The light products start with fat-free yogurt and are sweetened with acesulfame potassium and sucralose in order to keep calories at 80 to 90. The low-fat varieties contain 170 calories.
Gifford's is the reigning champion in the Wisconsin Dairy Products Association contest. It sells its ice cream, frozen yogurt, sherbet and sorbet from Maine to Virginia.
