Dental Health Connection Promoted in UK

The British Cheese Board in conjunction with the British Dental Health Foundation is working to make the connection between cheese consumption and dental health.

Based on a body of research showing that eating cheese can help reduce dental decay, the BCB has arranged to deliver cheese in mini refrigerators to dental offices in the UK so that dentists can give cheese to their youngest patients after appointments.

Research shows that eating cheese increases the flow of saliva while neutralizing plaque acids that can lead to poor dental health. In addition the high levels of calcium and phosphorus in cheese are both beneficial to teeth.
