At an analysts’ conference last month, Dean Foods hinted that it will likely acquire some small local or regional companies to broaden its footprint.

“Our first choice would always be a synergistic acquisition,” CFO Jack Callahan said, when asked about how Dean would utilize its growing cash flow. “I suspect you’ll hear about one or two this year. I don’t think it will be anything monumental.”

Executives of the White Wave division said it plans to rollout more single-serve Horizon Organic and Silk soy milk products, focusing on the market for consumers on the go.

The nation’s largest dairy also said it will introduce 10 flavors of Horizon Organic ice cream this year.
