Wells’ Dairy Inc. has moved into its new offices in Le Mars, Iowa, and company officials held a ribbon cutting ceremony in late October. The $30 million facility features 35 meeting rooms with names relevant to the history of Wells’ Dairy and the Le Mars, Iowa community it has called home for 93 years. Each meeting room name highlights events, locations, and people that have played a significant role in the development of Wells’ Dairy and the City of Le Mars.

“We’re extremely excited and pleased to be in our new facility,” said Gary Wells, CEO. “This is a beautiful facility, one of which we can all be proud. It is quite fitting that we conduct our ribbon cutting at this time. On October 24, 1913, Fred H. Wells, Jr., my grandfather, signed a contract to start a milk business in Le Mars. I’m sure Fred would be extremely proud of where Wells’ Dairy is today. I would like to thank everyone involved in bringing this project to fruition.”

Wells family members pictured here from left to right are Greg Wells, senior v.p. supply chain; Doug Wells, co-president; Gary Wells, CEO, and Mike Wells, co-president.

More than $10 million in local and state incentives helped persuade the company to keep the corporate headquarters in Iowa. In return, Wells’ promised to create 129 jobs paying an average of $60,000 a year.
