The Dannon Co., Inc. is planning a $200 million expansion of its current production facility in West Jordan, Utah. According to a local news report, the plant will add 10 production lines. A Dannon spokesman told the Salt Lake Tribune that the project would also benefit Utah’s dairy industry by adding 30,000 dairy cows and 295 new jobs at the West Jordan plant.

The newspaper reported that Dannon has already begun an expansion project at its Minster, Ohio plant. The West Jordan plant was built in 1997 with a design that anticipated future expansions. It was recognized as Food Engineering Magazine’s Plant of the Year in 2000.
