Big Numbers

More than 800 organic farmers in 25 states are now members of the Organic Valley/CROPP Cooperative. The organization announced last month that it had met this milestone (a record number) solidifying its position as the largest cooperative of organic farmers in North America. The numbers include 600 organic dairy farmers.


Big Apple

Bravo! Foods has introduced a line of products in metro New York, the company’s first foray into the Big Apple market. Bravo! Blenders™ is a milk-based lactose-free meal beverage.


Big Money

A group of 100 workers at the Sargento plant in St. Cloud, Wis., say they have the winning ticket for a $208.6 million Powerball lottery jackpot. The second-shift workers say they pooled their money to buy 100 lottery tickets for a drawing last month.


Vermont Cheese Plant Revived

A small cheese plant in Swanton, Vt., will reopen in the fall after being purchased by a local father and son who are in the cheese brokerage and food distribution business. Via Cheese LLC will continue to produce mozzarella from the plant.
