Wisconsin-based Marathon Cheese, Co. has plans to build a $27 million packaging plant on a 40-acre site in southwestern Idaho. Marathon will ship cheese from other facilities and will cut and wrap for other marketers including Kraft, Schreiber and Sargento, according to published reports citing company sources. This will be Marathon’s fourth plant, but its first in Idaho. The site, located near Mountain Home, was offered to the company as part of a local recruitment effort.
