Passion fruit grows on a vine in its native tropical and subtropical regions. The round fruit can be one to three inches in size with a hard, smooth and wax-coated rind. The color ranges from dark purple to light yellow or orange. The fruit itself is composed of juice and pulp-filled pockets, as well as hundreds of small black seeds.
