FSI report for the week beginning Aug. 28, 2011

Dairy food marketers say ice cream cake is perfect for a picnic and yogurt is promoted as "the taste of the summer" in this week's free-standing inserts.

Celebration Foods says "Don't just have dessert. Have a Party!" with its Oreo cookie ice cream cake, which is also available in an ice cream roll. The food can be served at a Labor Day picnic or a back-to-school neighborhood block party, the marketer suggests. The FSI points shoppers to "the bakery section or frozen aisle at your local supermarket or supercenter."

Dannon headlines a FSI for its Light & Fit yogurt, "The Light & Fresh taste of the summer." The product has 80 calories per 6-ounce serving. The FSI directs readers to Facebook where they can "like" Dannon to receive "our latest tips, tools and offers."

In other FSI activity:

Sargento says its light and Colby-Jack string cheeses are "all natural. always delicious." A second FSI for provolone is headlined "Never Processed. Always Natural & Delicious! Taste the real difference."
