    The company bought an ice cream plant in Utah in the fourth quarter of 2015.

    Dairy processor Dean Foods Co. said adjusted net sales in 2015 fell to $8.1 billion from $9.5 billion in 2014. Net income was $115.3 million in 2015.

    Yoplait shows gains in volume, sales and market share in Q1

    While net sales for General Mills' U.S. Retail segment dipped 5% from the prior year, the Snacks, Yoplait and Small Planet Foods divisions achieved net sales gains.

    Land O'Lakes Inc., Arden Hills, Minn., said that its Dairy Foods business segment in 2013 generated record pretax earnings of $75 million on sales of $4.5 billion, up 8% from 2012. The results were driven by improved margins on milk powders and butter in Global Dairy Ingredients along with records in sales volume and earnings in the Retail Foods and Foodservice businesses.

    Kraft Foods Group, Inc. Northfield, Ill., reported today that net revenues in the second quarter declined 1.1% to $4.7 billion and that operating income increased 53.5% to $1.4 billion in the period. In the company's Cheese Segment, revenues increased from a combination of higher prices, volume gains and improved product mix with significant gains in Kraft natural cheeses and Velveeta.

    Seattle-based Darigold, the marketing and processing subsidiary of the Northwest Dairy Association, announced the completion of its new milk powder dryer at its Lynden, Wash., processing plant. A fire destroyed the dryer in February 2012.
