Thirty-nine IDFA members visited Capitol Hill in June and met with key legislative leaders during the annual Washington Conference. The main topic of discussion was the importance of dairy reform in the 2007 Farm Bill.

The conference also featured grassroots training; a presentation by Dr. Larry Sabato, a political commentator and elections expert; dairy policy briefings; and exclusive events for Ice Cream, Milk & Cheese PAC contributors.

Of course it wrapped up with the ever-popular Capitol Hill Ice Cream Party. IDFA staff members offered 1,500 gallons of ice cream, frozen yogurt and sherbet topped with 44 cases of sundae syrups to an estimated 10,000 congressional leaders, their families and staff at this year’s party.

On its website, IDFA thanked member companies who contributed the ice cream for the event.
