Ben & Jerry’s seems to have gotten the egg off its face. The Vermont-based ice cream maker, owned by Unilever, has found a certified humane egg supplier after the Humane Society complained of inhumane conditions at the company’s previous vendor.

Wisconsin specialty cheese maker and distributor Roth Käse USA celebrates its 15th anniversary this month. Festivities slated for Oct. 6 included the unveiling of a new Culinary Education Centre and a state-of-the-art Affinage Facility for curing and finishing of aged cheeses.

Cornell University’s Department of Dairy Science says Crowley Foods Inc., has the best milk in the state of New York. Cornell runs a quantifiable competition of randomly-acquired milk samples each year, and then ranks the products of all participating facilities. This year Crowley’s Albany plant scored 94.4 out of a possible 100 points.

Dean Foods Co. and TiVo Inc., creator of television services for digital video recorders, are giving consumers a chance to win a flat-panel TV and a TiVo® Series2™ DT DVR with one year of TiVo service.

Drive-in chain Sonic has begun offering low-fat white and chocolate milk in resealable, 8-oz plastic bottles. The bottle label includes the 3-A-Day of Dairy logo. The Chicago Tribune also reports that Sonic is expanding into Northern and Western markets as well. The chain currently operates more than 3,000 stores, primarily in the South.
