Membrane Technology Forum to focus on cleaning, sanitation and wastewater

The Membrane Technology Forum, taking place June 10 to 12 at the Doubltree in St. Paul and presented by Dairy Foods and the American Dairy Products Institute, will offer dynamic technical sessions that are catered to the latest trends and topics in the membrane technology sector. Industry experts will be presenting to you new ideas and data informed solutions to help your company grow with the constantly evolving trends in membrane technology.

In addition to several hours of dedicated networking, this year's event will feature more than 20 presentations led by some of the progressive thinking membrane experts. Below you will find more information on four educational sessions regarding Cleaning, Sanitation & Wastewater. 

Accelerated Cleaning Protocols, Monitoring, and Sustainability for Dairy and Non-Dairy Products

In today’s world of ever-increasing sustainability goals, suppliers and their customers are continuously working together to implement hygiene programs that will contribute to water, water treatment and energy savings while reducing turnaround time to allow for increased production or maintenance needs. This session will discuss accelerated cleaning protocols, innovative monitoring tools, and precision volume-based dosing and their impact on your ability to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of your membrane systems in the development of dairy foods and beverages, as well as high-protein, non-dairy products. This speech will be delivered by Eric van der Beek, Sector Specialist Manager, North America F&B, Diversey, A Solenis Co.

Panel Discussion: Advancement in Forward Osmosis & Wastewater Management

Join Douglas J. Peckenpaugh, Group Publisher for dairy, meat, poultry, bakery, snack, confectionery, and packaging at BNP Media, as he leads a discussion on key advancements in strategies for membrane cleaning. He will be joined by Devesh Mittal, Vice President & General Manager, Energy and Environmental Services Division, Aquatech International, and Jon Goodman, Vice President, Commercial Development, ZwitterCo, as they dig into topics like increasing reuse of water, reducing fees associated with wastewater discharge, advancements in forward osmosis (FO) management, streamlining cleaning processes, reducing chemical usage, improving overall sustainability, and more.

Devesh received his bachelor’s degree from Banaras Hindu University in Technology, Chemical Engineering and his Master of Business Administration from the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University.


Jon GoodmanVice President, Commercial Development, Zwitter Co.

Jon Goodman’s 35-year career in membranes reflects a passion for solving critical challenges. He leverages his expertise in sales, market management, and strategy development as he leads ZwitterCo’s Commercial Development effort. Jon previously scaled commercial operations for TriSep/Microdyn-Nadir/Mann+Hummel and FilmTec Membranes (then part of Dow Chemical). Jon is focused on accelerating growth and market adoption of ZwitterCo’s innovative membrane technology.


Eric van der Beek,Sr Sector Manager, Diversey

Bachelor of Science, Food Science Honours Program, University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada (1994)

Eric began with Diversey in 1997 as a Technical Sales Account Manager, specializing in cultured dairy products and ready to eat meats. In 2010, Eric transitioned to the Diversey Sector Specialist team. As a Sector Specialist, Eric uses his extensive industry knowledge to help Diversey's customers diagnose and remediate quality issues, optimise plant operations, and ensure plant employees are properly trained. Eric is an active member of numerous industry associations, including the Membrane Technology Forum, Ontario Dairy Council, Canadian Meat Council, Ontario Food Protection Agency, International Society of Beverage Technologists, and the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association.

The Membrane Technology Forum also announced these topics will also be discussed during breakout sessions as well.
