Anthony Zamarro is the Membrane Bioreactor Product Lead for DuPont Water Solutions’ MEMCOR Division. He is responsible for technical sales and plant lifecycle management for the North American market. Anthony holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and an M.B.A. from Clark University. He has worked on membrane systems for 20 years, with a focus on municipal treatment of water and wastewater with hollow fiber ultrafiltration systems. His work is currently focused on next generation advanced treatment systems using membrane bioreactors for Indirect and Direct Potable Reuse (IPR/DPR).

Membrane Bioreactor Maintenance Requirements

Membrane Bioreactors (MBRs) have been widely used for municipal wastewater treatment in North America since the early 2000s. In that short time, manufacturers have made significant technology improvements that impact operations and maintenance requirements for the system. This presentation gives a short synopsis of technology developments in MBR systems since their introduction to North America, discusses different system configurations that are commercially available, and provides case studies of several plants with a focus on daily operator tasks to maintain system performance.
