Shane Wiercinski
Director - Wastewater Solutions, Complete Filtration Resources

Shane Wiercinski is the Director of the Wastewater Solutions division of Complete Filtration Resources. His division specializes in working with customers in the food & beverage industry to solve their toughest wastewater challenges. Prior to joining CFR, Shane cut his teeth in the Oi & Gas Industry as part of the technology and innovation center for Siemens. Shane’s value to the industry is in advancing the application of membrane filtration in wastewater treatment, specifically as it applies to aerobic and anaerobic membrane bioreactors, in order to provide treatment facilities that are sustainable, both environmentally and economically.

Unique Applications of Tubular Crossflow Ultrafiltration Membranes in Wastewater Treatment to Reduce Operating Costs

Advancements in tubular crossflow membranes has allowed for the application of these membranes in wastewater treatment processes outside of traditional filtration applications. The use of tubular crossflow membranes in these unique applications can allow end users to reduce overall operating costs of their WWTP by providing efficient solids separation. Tubular crossflow membranes have the ability to thicken sludge up to 5 times the original solids concentration while maintaining long membrane life and acceptable cleaning regimens. Additionally, these ultrafiltration membranes can be applied when chemical precipitation is required to achieve ultra-low phosphorus levels by replacing traditional inefficient gravity separation techniques and reducing overall chemical consumption.
