Being in the middle can be challenging, however in Scott’s case, his role requires it. He bridges the gap between clients and Solecta to ensure that the customer has success with their membrane operation. Scott has over 20 years of experience with membrane systems. In his role, he works in partnership with customers to gain a deep understanding their needs and translates that to the Solecta operations team in order to provide the right solutions to solve the client's problems. His favorite quote by Lao Tzu sums up his viewpoint, “The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.”
As with any processor, the desire to improve profitability is a key business driver. Client X used total cost of ownership (TCO) principles to evaluate how and where to focus resources in order to improve the operation of their plant. As a result of implementing TCO, client X was able to improve profitability at their plant by improving protein yield, lowering operating costs and reducing downtime. Going forward the client is continuing to use TCO to evaluate projects to further support their continuous improvement objectives.
