From Pilot to Production: How To Effectively Scale Your Membrane Process

The importance of pilot testing to scale a membrane process is essential, especially when working with a new application where your process still needs to be defined. This presentation will go through the process of how you effectively plan, execute and evaluate a membrane pilot test, and then use that information to properly scale to an industrialized process. Some key areas of focus will be the following: designing a pilot test, membrane selection, equipment selection, key data collection, and membrane system design. The presentation will also have examples of some pilot tests and using that data to show how you can effectively scale to a full sized membrane process. It will also highlight how you evaluate if a process is scalable or not from both a technical and economical standpoint.
