Mark Braun started his journey in membrane filtration 37 years ago in the process engineering department of a European membrane company. He has been working at GEA for several years previously developing overseas membrane filtration markets in Latin America and Asia and presently working as Director leading global development and innovation of membrane filtration.

Organic acids are used for numerous applications in food, polymer, agricultural, pharmaceutical, and other industries. Production of organic acids from renewable feedstocks is considered to generate lower carbon footprint. Efficient microbial biotechnology and downstream processing optimize production costs. Membrane filtration is applied at several steps in the purification of organic acids for economical synthesis of organic acids.
