John Charest
Membrane Scientist, Vandstrom

John Charest is a membrane scientist at Vandstrom, where he is currently working on developing and scaling up membranes with Aquaporins imbedded in the selective layer. He has been working in the membrane industry for 9 years, holding titles of research technician, membrane scientist, and consultant. John has developed UF, RO, and FO membranes at Vandstrom and Oasys Water. John works to scale up of novel membrane technologies to pilot lines and commercial production while improving membrane performance and uniformity. John enjoys communicating science topics and collaborative problem solving. John has a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where he received the Chemistry Departmental Recognition Award and the Organic Chemistry Award.
