The Role of Nanofiltration in Dairy Ingredients

Many dairy facilities are exploring what membrane processes they can implement and the additional ingredients they can produce to draw further value from their dairy processing. A panel of experts from various backgrounds in the dairy industry will discuss Nanofiltration (NF) and how it can be effectively implemented in a dairy plant. The discussion will include the characteristics of an NF membrane, the element construction, as well as considerations for selecting the ideal element. We will review typical dairy applications using membrane technology and explore how NF contributes to high quality products and ingredients. Last, we will look at the operational set points of a NF machine in production and in cleaning.
