Spiral Wound Membrane Elements - Impact on Dairy Processing Plants
Membrane elements are a critical component of dairy processing. By leveraging the specific performance capabilities of microfiltration (MF), ultrafiltration (UF), nanofiltration (NF) and reverse osmosis (RO) membranes, a dairy plant can produce a variety of high-value products for use in sports nutrition products, infant formula, pharmaceuticals and other foods. They facilitate production of all these products through the principles of membrane separation. An understanding of how membrane elements function and change over time will help control and optimize plant operation. This webinar will focus on available membrane technologies, why the membrane is configured into an element, and how those elements contribute to the productivity of a dairy processing plant.
Learning Objectives:
- Types of membrane technologies
- Flow dynamics in a spiral-wound element
- Balancing process flows in a dairy plant
- Impact of membrane changes on plant operations
