Does trimming your waist with cheese sound too good to be true? It does for some who haven’t found the right cocktail of foods and exercises, says Marina Mayer, executive editor.

Trim That Waist, Baby

Does trimming your waist with cheese sound too good to be true? It does for some who haven’t found the right cocktail of foods and exercises.

Now, consumers opting for that perfect beach body can aim for the stars with DCI Cheese Co.’s “More Taste, Less Waist” campaign. Sponsored by Nikos, the Richfield, Wis.-based company’s line of traditional and flavored feta, the contest urges consumers to make Nikos feta a part of their healthy diet and exercise plan to make “less waist” a reality.

“Feta is lower in fat and calories than many other cheeses, but its rich, full flavor doesn’t taste ‘low fat’,” says Katie Jury, marketing manager for DCI. “With ‘More Taste, Less Waist’, we’re encouraging consumers to use Nikos feta as a flavorful addition to their weight loss plan.”

The contest, which ends Apr. 30, is promoted through in-store shelf talkers featuring contest information and a coupon. Consumers with smart phones can connect directly to the promotion’s website, www.NikosFeta.com, for recipes and wine pairings via the promotional display’s QR code. The website also features an online entry form and rules detailing the specifics of the contest. For instance, one grand prize winner will receive a Mediterranean cruise for two valued at $3,000.

So go ahead, eat some feta and trim that waist.
