Chicago-based Fairlife LLC said after years of fan requests for an ice cream product, it partnered with Lafayette, Calif.-based Boardwalk Frozen Treats LLC to create a line of light ice cream.
It's a sweet state of affairs for the retail ice cream/sherbet category. Dollar sales jumped 7.6% to $7,298.8 million during the 52 weeks ending May 17, 2020, according to data from Chicago-based market research firm IRI.

Halo Top Creamery, a brand of Wells Enterprises Inc., Le Mars, Iowa, said it released its first-ever exclusively Canadian pint collection with the launch of Butter Tart, Maple Pecan and Chocolate Honeycomb flavors.
The brands’ changes eliminate paper and support recycling.

Saputo Cheese USA Inc., Lincolnshire, Ill., said its Treasure Cave and Frigo Cheese brands removed their carton sleeves, moved to direct printing and added instructions on the cups to inform consumers about proper disposal for their deli cup packaging sold in retail.
IDFA said it is pleased with the recommendation, but is disappointed the report did not include relevant information on scientific studies that show the benefits of dairy at each fat level.
