Ice cream lovers prefer scoops in cups, with three different toppings
A new poll, performed by OnePoll in conjunction with Breyers, also reveals some personality traits that line up with favorite flavors.
When it comes to the ideal way to enjoy ice cream, the majority of U.S. respondents to a recent poll said they prefer their scoops in cups — topped with three different toppings. The poll, performed by OnePoll in conjunction with Unilever USA brand Breyers, also found that chocolate chips rank as the No. ice cream topping among the 2,000 Americans surveyed, followed by hot fudge (49%), nuts (40%), whipped cream (37%) and caramel (35%).
Ice cream preference also appear to be linked to specific personality traits. Strawberry ice cream fanatics are likely to find love earlier than their chocolate and vanilla ice cream-loving counterparts, according to the poll. On average, strawberry ice cream lovers find love at age 24. That's a year before vanilla ice cream lovers and two years before chocolate ice cream lovers, Breyers noted.
