Magic Valley Quality Milk Producers to expand plant
The investment will allow the Jerome, Idaho-based company to offer additional milk products.
Magic Valley Quality Milk Producers (MVQMP) announced plans for a $20 million expansion to its plant in Jerome, Idaho. According to Alan Stutzman, the company’s general manager, the project will take 12 months to complete.
Founded more than 20 years ago as a milk marketing cooperative, Jerome-based MVQMP is a supplier of raw milk. Although the company’s membership and board of directors recognize that it is important to maintain a good relationship with raw milk customers, they also realize that it is necessary to expand into the processing of milk in order to continue to be sustainable, MVQMP said. As a result of the investment, MVQMP will be able to market ultra-filtered skim milk, condensed skim milk, and cream.
