France's Naturex acquired Decas Botanical Synergies of Massachusetts.
Naturex announced on Sept. 19 that it has acquired Decas Botanical Synergies, a supplier of cranberry-derived ingredients for the nutrition and health industry.
Decas Botanical Synergies, Carver, Mass., specializes in cranberry extracts and powders for the nutraceuticals (tablets, capsules, soft gels, soft chews etc.). Cultivated in North America, the cranberry is known for its ability to reduce urinary tract infections (UTIs).
UTIs are the second most common type of infection in the body, accounting for about 8.1 million visits to US health care providers each year, according to Naturex, citing research from the U.S. government.
Produced from superior-grade cranberries, Decas Botanical Synergies ingredients comprehensive portfolio includes Proanthocyanidin (PAC) standardized powders and extracts, juice concentrate powders and cold-pressed seed oils. The flagship brand PACran is supported by two clinical studies, six US and three international patents.
