The Frisa brand has
launched Glace à la Vanille et Noix de Pécan (vanilla and
pecan ice cream), with caramel sauce and pieces of caramelized pecan. Sold
at Aldi stores, the line also includes vanilla and macadamia, and caramel
with caramel sauce varieties. Each 500 milliliter paperboard tub sells for
2.79 euros (about $3.75).
Waitrose Gelato
United Kingdom
An Italian-style
favorite comes to the British Isles in the form of Waitrose Gelato Espresso
Ice Cream, a smooth coffee ice cream with espresso sauce and
coffee-chocolate drops. Suitable for vegetarians, the treat comes in a 500
milliliter plastic tub and retails for £1.99 (about $4).
Savory Café Helado
Chile
With 60 percent more milk,
Nestlé says this vanilla-and-coffee-flavored ice cream is creamier
than previously offered. The 1-liter plastic tubs retail for 1,089 CLP
(about $2). The ice cream also comes in a fruit-nut variety.
Bofrost Welln’Ice
Germany
This vanilla ice cream
from Bofrost boasts 3 percent fat and 73 calories per 100 milliliter
serving. The ice cream comes in a 1,400 milliliter microwaveable plastic
tub and retails for 5.95 euros ($8).
Pirkka Yogurt Ice Cream
Finland
Acidophilus and
bifido bacteria are at the heart of Pirkka Rruklinen
Pähkinä-Jogurttijäätelö (yogurt ice cream) in a
rye-nut flavor (also available in berry). The low-fat product is sold in a
250 gram plastic tub that retails for 1.69 euros (about $2.30).
