Pierre's French Ice Cream, Cleveland-Kevin Maciak promoted to v.p of operations. Maciak has been with Pierre's since 1998, and has served as director human resources and warehouse operations.

Bradford, Brookfield, Wis.-Steve Guskey appointed applications engineer. He will be responsible for research and development of improvements on Bradford's valves and valve systems. Guskey brings an extensive industry background, having held positions in the industrial and municipal markets with emphsis on water and wastewater systems.

Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board, Madison, Wis.-Nick DeRose joins as director of sales, retail grocery channel. DeRose has strong sales, marketing and dairy products background working with national brands, such as Dannon Yogurt, Wells Dairy and Universal Foods. As the Retail Grocery Director of Sales, DeRose will direct the implementation of WMMB retail channel programs including responsibility for the WMMB Regional Marketing Manager Salesforce.

Alfa Laval Inc., Equipment Division, Warminster, Pa.-John Atanasio appointed president. Atanasio has been with Alfa Laval since 1982 and served most recently as president of the Parts and Service Division since 2001. Prior to joining Alfa Laval, Atanasio held a number of positions at Westfalia Separator.

Chr. Hansen Inc., Milwaukee-Tim Harried appointed product mgr., cheese ingredients for the company's dairy business, and Jim Funk is promoted to director of sales, sweeteners for Chr. Hansen's food and beverage business area. Harried will be responsible for the pricing, promotion and inventory management for all Chr. Hansen ingredients related to the cheese market. He has been with Chr. Hansen for seven years, most recently as territory mgr. selling the full line of Chr. Hansen ingredients to customers in the south central region of the United States. Funk has been in specialty sweetener and carbohydrate sales for 26 years. He most recently was account mgr. for Chr. Hansen, handling the majority of the company's brokers and key accounts for sweeteners.

Fristam Pumps, Middleton, Wis.-Doug Sevedge joins as materials mgr. Sevedge has 25 years experience in the purchasing and materials. He is a long time member of Institute of Supply Management, (Formerly NAPM) and is a certified purchasing mgr. As materials mgr. he will be responsible for coordinating Fristam's supply chain management activities.

Hixson, Cincinnati-Don Barnes, P.E., promoted to senior vice president. In 22-years at Hixson, Barnes has been chief electrical engineer and is currently the head of systems engineering. He is a member of Hixson's Board of Directors, an officer of the company. Hixson specializes in creating optimum workplaces for corporations, including headquarters, R&D, sanitary processing facilities and fashion retail.

Endress+Hauser Inc., Greenwood Ind.-Bob Elliott of Alliance Process Control, Naperville Ill., becomes an affiliate of Endress+Hauser as a sanitary industry consultant. Elliott has been a sales manager for Accurate Metering Systems.

Alcan Inc., Plastics Division (formerly Pechiney Plastic Packaging, Inc.) Chicago-Christine Schaefer joins as market manager, food marketing. Schaefer is responsible for sales and marketing of flexible packaging in the condiment, lidding and cup stock markets. Most recently, Schaefer was a marketing consultant to companies in the packaging industry and as Marketing Director at CCL Industries. Pechiney was recently acquired by Alcan.

Alfa Laval, Pleasant Prairie, Wis., is introducing a mobile exhibition designed to bring the company's products to life science, food and beverage, dairy and cosmetic and personal care customers. The AlfaTour is a 48-foot trailer trade show will feature Alfa Laval's heat transfer, separation, fluid handling products and services. It makes its debut this month June with a six-week tour in the Northeastern states visiting brewery, food and pharmaceutical companies.
