Vinamilk Places 30M-plus Euro Order with GEA Process Engineering for New Turnkey Project

    October 13, 2010

Vinamilk, the market leader in Vietnam for production of dairy products, placed an order with GEA Process Engineering for delivery of two complete dairy processing lines for production of infant formula. The order of more than 30 million euro marks Vinamilk’s biggest single investment in dairy processing equipment.

GEA Process Engineering’s delivery includes two GEA Process Engineering wet mix plants, two GEA Niro spray dryers and two GEA Colby powder handling and retail filling plants. GEA Process Engineering also will provide utility and mechanical installation as well as production start-up services. The two processing lines will each have a capacity to produce 4 ton of infant formula per hour.

“We are very happy with this order because by delivering complete production lines and providing installation and start-up from A to Z, we can guarantee that Vinamilk gets a fully optimized production facility,” says Claus Siegaard, business unit manager for GEA Process Engineering in Singapore.

GEA Process Engineering won the order in an open tender that was released by Vinamilk in January. GEA Process Engineering handed in its bid in June.

“We have chosen GEA as the supplier of our new installation because it has met all our requirements during tender evaluation in regards to process technology, including experience, engineering, delivery time and reasonable pricing,” says Madame Lien, chairwoman for Vinamilk.

Infant formula production, scheduled to commence in August 2012, will serve both the domestic market in Vietnam as well as Vinamilk’s export markets. The production lines will be located near Ho Chi Minh City.

For further information, contact Patrick Cole, sales manager of GEA Process Engineering. He can be reached at 715/386-9371 and patrick.cole@geagroup.com
