FSI report for the week beginning July 24, 2011

That American icon, the hamburger, gets the multi-culti treatment with imported cheese in this week’s free-standing inserts.

For the most part, dairy marketers stayed out of the free-standing inserts for yet another week. The exception was Finlandia Cheese, which featured the headline “Big flavor in every bite!” over a photograph of a cheeseburger. The insert promoted the company’s “100 year tradition,” “master cheesemakers” and “made with the purest milk from cows not treated with rBST.” Coupon: $1 savings on any 6-ounce or greater SKU.

In the only other insert this week, Abbott Nutrition was back with its PediaSure Sidekicks supplemental nutrition for children. The beverage is made with milk protein concentrate and whey protein concentrate.
