Decagon Devices Inc.’s TrueDry CV-9 high-precision moisture meter is an instrument that accurately measures the moisture content of nine dairy samples with just four minutes of hands-on time. This can save lab technicians approximately 2,500 workflow interruptions and 150 hours per year compared to other loss-on drying methods, according to the company.

The TrueDry meter also eliminates error due to ambient conditions where differences in the humidity in a lab can cause significant variation in oven dry values. The standard drying method for dried milk is 102C until constant weight. The main disadvantage to this method has been impact of room humidity, which taints results. This disadvantage is negated in the TrueDry. See a video about TrueDry technology.
