Biocatalysts Enzyme sampleBiocatalysts Ltd will be exhibiting at the IFT Annual Meeting & Food Expo, June 21st – 24th, New Orleans, La. Over 20,000 of the world’s top food science and technology professionals will visit the show where they will find Biocatalysts exhibiting the latest advances in enzyme technology at booth 5051.

At IFT Biocatalysts will be showcasing their capabilities in novel enzyme development. The process of developing and manufacturing a new enzyme has previously been an expensive and lengthy process. In response to the need for novel enzymes to drive innovation and differentiate products from the competition in the food ingredients industry, Biocatalysts have developed the tools and expertise to rapidly and cost effectively access, develop and manufacture new enzymes.

Biocatalysts will also be promoting their off-the-shelf range of enzymes at the show. This includes Promod 950L, a microbially derived alternative to papain which in addition to being constantly available throughout the year has the benefit of being produced in a way that makes it less susceptible to other problems sometimes experienced with papain from papaya. Promod 950L is efficient at hydrolysing vegetable, animal and fish proteins to increase solubility, reduce viscosity and produce specific flavours. It is particularly suitable for hydrolysis of bakers and brewers yeast to increase solubility and yield during the manufacture of yeast extracts.
