DSM will be showcasing its complete line of food and nutritional solutions at the Institute of Food Technologist Annual Meeting & Food Expo 2013 (Chicago, July 13-16). DSM Food Specialties’ salt reduction toolbox enables manufacturers to deliver authentic home-style tastes with a natural label declaration, while meeting the increasing consumer demand for up to 50% less salt in snacks and ready meals. As well as novel yeast extracts, natural flavor ingredients can be used to replace conventional process flavors, without compromising on cost efficiency. Some of these are up to four times more concentrated than alternatives on the market, therefore reducing the amount required to achieve the same effect.
