WS Packaging Group acquires Label World; Custom Fabricating and Repair acquires C.E. Rogers

WS Packaging Group Inc., Green Bay, Wis., has acquired Label World, a full-service printer located in Rochester, N.Y., specializing in labels and flexible packaging printing. Also this week, Custom Fabricating and Repair, Marshfield, Wis., announced it has acquired C.E. Rogers Co., Mora, Minn.

WS Packaging Group acquires Label World

Label World was founded in 1985 by Bob and Janet Allardice. Its growth has been fueled by investments in capabilities to produce prime labels for the specialized needs of brand owners in the health and beauty, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, wine, and specialty beverage markets.

“Label World has built its business with an ongoing commitment to the highest standards of customer service, helping its customers succeed by delivering labeling and packaging solutions for brand owners,” said Rex Lane, chief executive officer of WS Packaging. “The company leverages the problems and challenges of a competitive marketplace and turns them into opportunities.

Pressure-sensitive labels are the core business for Label World. The company also provides a complete range of custom label solutions beyond basic and prime labels, including tags and inserts, point of purchase, extended content labels, plow-folds, and pouches and packets. Additional capabilities include specialty material stocks, varnishes and stamping for premium effects, direct thermal paper and tags, and thermal transfer paper and films.

WS Packaging Group, Inc., with more than 45 years of experience, is one of the largest printing and label converting operations in North America. The majority owner is J.W. Childs Associates, L.P. a private equity firm based in Boston.

Custom Fabricating and Repair acquires C.E. Rogers Co.

Custom Fabricating and Repair (CFR) is a sanitary process system integrator that manufactures process equipment in three Marshfield, Wis., facilities totaling 200,000 square feet of manufacturing space.

CFR’s affiliated companies — Advanced Process Solutions, Complete Filtration Resources, and Cheese and Whey Systems Inc. — operate separate engineering and marketing functions, with fabrication and system assembly by Custom Fabricating.

C.E. Rogers Co. will become part of CFR’s Cheese and Whey Systems division, says Howard J. Rogers, president, C.E. Rogers Co. He notes that C.E. Rogers will remain in its current location, continuing to provide engineering, fabrication, parts and support services. C.E. Rogers Co. has been a supplier of process systems to the dairy industry for more than 130 years. Currently, the company specializes in the design, fabrication and installation of dairy evaporation and spray drying systems.
