Privately owned Brothers International Desserts Inc., Irvine, Calif., this week said it acquired the Organic Rice Divine line of frozen desserts from Good Karma Food Technologies Inc., Prairie du Sac, Wis. The date of the transfer will be Sept. 1, 2012.

Brothers Desserts, a manufacturer of branded and private-label frozen desserts and novelties, serves grocery chains and wholesale customers. It makes fruit sorbets, frozen yogurts, paletitas, pies, Italian ices and other foods. Brothers has been in the business of manufacturing products for over 40 years. The acquisition will help the company in its goal of expanding the dessert throughout the United States and Canada.

Gary Winkler, president and co founder of Brothers called Organic Rice Divine "the best tasting, nondairy, gluten-free product in the market."

Loren Wallis, the president and founder of Good Karma Food Technologies called the move "fantastic" for the brand, vendors, brokers, distributors and customers.
