Solbar enters weight management market

Solbar enters weight management marketBy Solbar

Solbar’s new line includes innovative textured products designed specifically for a complete healthy and balanced meal that helps ensure an optimal daily consumption of protein.

Many studies show that high protein meals are more satisfying than high-carbohydrate or high-fat meals when based on measures of satiety. Protein intake, together with exercise, has been clearly proven to improve lean mass retention and a lean body overall. Comparing high protein ad-libitum diets to high carbohydrate ad-libitum diets, greater weight loss was shown in the group consuming high protein than in the group consuming high carbohydrates. These weight loss results are attributed to the enhanced satiety considered the most important factor in the total weight-loss process.

Soy protein isolate is a naturally complete protein with a Protein Digestibility Corrected Amino Acid Score (PDCAAS) OF 1.00, and of a low-glycemic index that can help improve blood-glucose control and insulin sensitivity, while aiding in reduction of body weight.

“By replacing fat or high-carbohydrate foods with healthy foods containing Solbar’s extensive line of ingredients for weight management, the consumer gains improved satiety together with a low-glycemic diet component,” notes Moti Shmueli, sales director manager. “Our new line will provide a competitive edge via highly nutritious values in new products developed by health food and supplement manufactures.”

The new line is based on two fundamental principles: taste and health. Solbar Q 741 is a low-viscosity soy isolate with a great flavor profile. It has excellent suspension properties and can be easily introduced into nutritional shakes and recovery meals as a highly nutritional protein source without compromising on flavor, viscosity or mouthfeel.

“Diet shakes fortified with Solbar Q 741 can be a great tasty choice for conscious consumer that decides to lose weight,” adds Shmueli.

At VitaFoods, Solbar Q813 was demonstrated in bar applications at both protein- and cereal-bar formats, to highlight the high protein levels achievable by using Solbar’s hydrolysed, low-viscosity soy protein isolate, without adverse effect on shelf life or flavor.

Also, the new ground textured soy protein concentrate product Contex 100 will be demonstrated in bar formats to show its low-moisture uptake and alternative texture properties. Contex 500, a flaked-textured soy protein concentrate, will demonstrate its ability to retain crispiness within a bar format. Contex 500 most suitable for nutrition bars and breakfast cereals formulations.

As a global leader in the soy ingredients market, Solbar is committed to highest quality soy protein solutions. Solbar targets to improve health, wellness and nutrition of people around the world by expanding range of soy proteins and soy isoflavones.
