USDA weekly prices decline for butter, cheese, whey milk powder

Butter prices received for 25-kilogram and 68-pound boxes meeting United States Department of Agriculture Grade AA standards averaged $1.44 per pound for the week ending Feb. 18. The price per pound decreased 5.7 cents from the previous week.

Cheddar Cheese prices received for 40-pound blocks averaged $1.50 per pound for the week, a decrease of 2.7 cents. The price for 500-pound barrels adjusted to 38% moisture averaged $1.53 per pound, down 0.4 cents.

Dry Whey prices received for bag, tote, and tanker sales meeting USDA Extra Grade standards averaged 64.0 cents per pound, down slightly (0.2 cents).

Nonfat Dry Milk prices received for bag, tote, and tanker sales meeting USDA Extra Grade or United States Public Health Service Grade A standards averaged $1.36 per pound, a decrease of 4 cents.
