MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich., Oct. 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Knoll America, the US subsidiary of the German company, Knoll Maschinenbau GmbH, announces the availability of the new Double Spindle Pump DSP, a safe pump system for plasticizing and pumping high-viscosity media in solid block form. Typical block materials include: butter, cheeses, margarine, palm fat, chocolate, fondant, mincemeat, and fruit fillings.

The pump system is capable of pumping viscous food material up to 150 GPM and 150 PSI depending upon drive speed and media viscosity. The unit is dry-run protected and wear-resistant, utilizing synchronized, contact-free spindles.

Bill Prudhomme, President of Knoll America, said, "The DSP is a great pump system and typical of our commitment to bring innovative sanitary pumps and accessories to the food processing industry."

Fast, sanitary cleaning and inspection of the DSP is made possible by the addition of a quick-disconnect fitting, releasing the bearing block and drive spindles from the pump housing, while the rotary portion of the pump is easily pulled back over the slide rails.
